Yuvraj Singh is an Indian International all-rounder Cricketer, and the son of Former Indian fast bowler Yograj Singh. He is a left-handed middle order batsman and slow left-arm spinner. He is also known for his fielding and powerful striking the ball long.
He was diagnosed with cancer by a Russian doctor in the year 2011 after lifting the dream world cup trophy. In 18th March 2012 Yuvraj was discharged from the hospital after successful recovery from a rare germ cell cancer in Boston, USA.
Background
He was born on 12th December 1981 in Chandigarh into a Sikh family. His father, Yograj Singh, was a former Indian cricketer and his mother was Shabnam Singh. Tennis and Roller Skating were Yuvraj’s favorite sports during his childhood and won the National U-14 Roller Skating Championship.
He completed his graduation from DAV College, Panjab University Chandigarh. On 12th November 2015, Yuvraj knotted with Bollywood actress and dancer, Hazel Keech and married her on 30th November 2016.
Yuvraj Singh curtain down his career from international cricket on 10th June 2019 and he picked Global T20 League, Canada as his first project post-retirement.
Career
Yuvraj started his career at the age of 13 years and 11 months and came to spotlight, when he scored 358 runs against Bihar’s first innings score of 357 in Cooch Behar Trophy in Final in 1999 and won the Player of the Tournament award in U-19 Cricket World Cup.
He was selected in the squad for ICC Knockout Trophy, 2000 and made his debut against Kenya in the pre-quarterfinal. In quarterfinal he won man of the match award against Australia for his fabulous innings of 84 runs out of 80 balls. He scored only 14 runs against New Zealand in the final which India lost.
In the final of NatWest Series 2002 against England, while chasing a target of 325/5 in 50 overs, India collapsed at 146/5 and the duo partnership of 121 runs between Yuvraj and Kaif helped India to beat England by two wickets with three balls to spare.
After 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup, he was signed by the Yorkshire Country Cricket Club and became the second Indian Cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar to play for the club.
In September 2007, he was named the vice-captain of the Indian team for the inaugural ICC World T20 in South Africa, he hit six sixes in an over of Stuart Broad and reached his fastest fifty, off just 12 balls. India won the inaugural tournament and each member of team India was rewarded with 80 Lakhs, while Yuvraj Singh was awarded with an additional 1 and Porsche 911 by the BCCI vice president Lalit Modi.
His Lifetime achievement came at ICC CWC 2011, where India lift the trophy and he was awarded with Man of the tournament for his contribution of 362 runs and 15 wickets throughout the tournament.
Battle out with Cancer and Fight Back
He was diagnosed with a malignant tumor between his lungs and heart in the year 2011. He went through different chemotherapy treatment at the Cancer Research Institute in Boston. He was discharged from the hospital after the third and final cycle of therapy and returned to India in April 2012.
Later he was selected to play in the Champions Trophy 2017. He won the man of the match award against Pakistan for his brilliant knock of 53 runs. He failed to pass the yo-yo test and dropped from the future series which ended his international career.
Indian Premier League
He was the icon Player and Captain of Kings XI Punjab team for the first two seasons. He registered his first hat-trick in T20 against RCB on 1st May 2009. He played for the several teams in the following seasons and found success in the 2016 Season, playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad and won the trophy.
Personal Life

In November 12, 2015, Yuvraj got engaged with British-Mauritian model and actress Hazel Keech and after one years on 30th November 2016, they got married in a lavish 10-day ceremony. Hazel Keech was adopted the name Gurbasant Kaur.

Retirement
On 10th June 2019, he decided to step down from all International format of the games and said its time to “Move on”.
