Las Vegas’ reputation for better or for worst has worked for its own good. No matter how many new casino strips have sprung, no matter how big other casino cities have gotten, no one can deny the luxury, fame, and grandeur that is Las Vegas. As we’ve mentioned before, time and time again, Las Vegas is home to the world’s most deluxe and expensive casino resorts and it pays its VIPs well. Today, we look at the top 6 biggest Vegas wins in history.
6. $680,000 and $27+ million
We’ve only started our list, but the numbers are already enormous. But hey, this is Las Vegas. A recently-turned senior woman won $680,000 on the Wheel of Fortune in the Palace Station Hotel. What a sane person would do is to cash out and take the money elsewhere but not this senior. She continued her winning spree and eventually won more than $27 million in the Megabucks jackpot after a couple of months. Talk about luck!
5. $8.9 million
Another senior who won her Vegas jackpot is a 71-year-old Amy Nishimura. She was just on vacation from Hawaii and always saw to it that she plays on the same machine at the Freemont Hotel. Playing for one 3 hours with $100, she won the massive $8.9 million jackpot and went on to finish her extravagant vacation. Living the dream.
4. $11 million
Winning $11 million in 1996 is massive! John Tippin, a vacationer in Vegas, is forever engraved in Vegas history when he hit the Megabucks. He even immortalized his winning spurge in his book “I Did It! My Life After Megabucks” which focuses on the cons of becoming an instant multimillionaire. Apparently, having that huge amount of money leads to isolation and paranoia according to him. Poor rich guy.
Let’s take a look at the famous India card game called Andar Bahar.
