The International Cricket Council (ICC) officially announced the 12 host cities for the 2027 Men’s Cricket World Cup on 30 July 2026. South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia will co-host the massive 57-match tournament during October and November 2027.

This event marks the first time the 50-over World Cup has visited Africa in 24 years. Organisers revealed the venues and the new tournament brand during a vibrant ceremony at the Inanda Polo Club in Johannesburg.
Twelve Cities Ready for Cricket’s Biggest Event
Twelve venues across three nations will welcome the world’s top 14 teams. South Africa provides the most locations with eight confirmed cities. Zimbabwe will host matches in three cities, while Namibia will use its capital city for the competition.

South Africa will use famous grounds like the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg and Newlands in Cape Town. Other South African host cities are Durban, Gqeberha, Bloemfontein, Paarl and KuGompo City.
Zimbabwe has chosen Harare and Bulawayo as the host cities. Zimbabwe is also constructing a new international stadium at Victoria Falls for this event. The Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek will stage the first senior ICC global tournament to be held in Namibia.
South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia Venues
South Africa remains the primary host with venues from across the country. Zimbabwe will use Harare Sports Club and Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. The Fale Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium at Victoria Falls will also provide a spectacular setting for matches.
Meanwhile, games in Namibia will be played at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek. The matches are split between the eight South African venues, three Zimbabwean venues, and one Namibian venue.

A New Tournament Format for 2027
The ICC has introduced a fresh format for the 2027 edition as the tournament grows from 10 to 14 teams. In the first stage, known as the Super Series, the three lowest-ranked teams play each other. The winner moves into the main group stage. The second stage features 12 teams divided into two groups of six. These teams play a round-robin format consisting of 30 matches.
The top three teams from each group and the next best-placed team overall advance to the Super 7 stage. During the Super 7, teams play 21 matches to decide the four semi-finalists. Finally, the winners of the semi-finals meet in the championship final.
How Can Fans Secure Their Seats
Official ticket sales for the 2027 World Cup have not yet started. The ICC has, however, set up a registration page for fans to sign up for updates. To find out when tickets go on sale, the best way is to register early.
Major matches will be in high demand. Matches such as India vs Pakistan, the semi-finals and the final will sell out very quickly. Fans are encouraged to make travel and hotel bookings early, as prices usually rise once the match schedule is announced.
