Bangladesh started their three-match T20I series against Pakistan with a strong 7-wicket win in Mirpur on Sunday, July 20, 2025. Parvez Hossain Emon took center stage while going for a small target of 111, scoring a brave 56* from 39 balls.
Earlier, Taskin Ahmed took 3 wickets for 22 runs, and Mustafizur gave away only 6 runs for 2 wickets, which stopped Pakistan from scoring well, getting them out for 110 runs. This big win gives Bangladesh a 1-0 lead in the series and a significant boost in confidence for the future.

Yes, you heard that right! In a chase that could’ve been tricky on a turning surface, young Parvez Hossain Emon batted like a veteran. Launching five sixes, he took on both pace and spin with flair.
Despite early hiccups—Bangladesh were 7/2 at one stage—Emon’s 56* and Tawhid Hridoy’s patient 36 helped the Tigers roar back. Their partnership ensured Bangladesh crossed the line with 27 balls to spare, a clinical chase with minimal fuss.

[WHAT’S HAPPENING] Series Momentum Shifts Early

The next game is very important for the visitors, and the hosts will try to finish the series well.
Writer’s Angle
As a writer and big cricket fan: This match wasn’t just a win—it was a sign. Bangladesh’s bowlers were strong, and their young batters showed great calmness.
On the other hand, Pakistan did not work well together and was unclear, especially during the middle overs. The Tigers seem eager, and if this first game shows anything, we might be seeing a new time of bold T20 cricket from Bangladesh.
