The staff maintained strict international standards, which allowed the matches to be played without major disruptions. The ACA proudly shared a post on their X(@assamcric) account, recognising and awarding the groundsmen for their invaluable contribution.
How Barsapara Stadium Deals With Bad Weather
The past couple of matches have been a challenge for Guwahati due to persistent rainfall. Rain and cloudy skies delayed and almost canceled multiple matches. During the match against the Mumbai Indians, the ground staff used specialized machines to dry the outfield quickly.
Although the rain lasted a long time, the staff removed the covers immediately after it stopped. Because of this, the game was delayed a while, but it started at 10:10 PM. Due to time constraints, the game was reduced to an 11-over-a-side contest.
Rajasthan Royals’ Perfect Streak in Guwahati
The ground staff and curators’ contributions directly helped the Rajasthan Royals achieve a perfect record at their second home. RR won all three matches played at the Barsapara Stadium. These victories came against Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Rajasthan Royals shared a post on their official X account, appreciating Guwahati for making all three games possible.

The team’s unbeaten run in Guwahati helped them maintain their top spot on the IPL 2026 points table. RR skipper Riyan Parag personally thanked the ground staff by giving them presents and taking group photos after their victory against the Mumbai Indians. This heartwarming gesture showed the deep respect the players have for the people who prepare the field.
Leadership and Government Support for IPL Success
The successful conduct of these matches required more than just ground preparation. In a social media post on X(@assamcric), the ACA extended sincere thanks to Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for his full support despite being busy with election duties. Additionally, the association thanked BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia for his consistent backing of Assam cricket.

Safety and logistics were also high priorities. The ACA praised Guwahati Police Commissioner Partha Sarathi Mahanta for managing the crowds and traffic. Multiple government departments cooperated to help the event, including Assam Police and Health Services, Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC), APDCL (Power), and Public Health Engineering (PHE)
Meanwhile, passionate fans from all over the country filled the stands, adding to the exciting atmosphere. Despite some lower turnouts reported due to local elections, dedicated supporters wearing Virat Kohli or Riyan Parag jerseys still gathered to see their stars.
